Ephesians 6:13-17 “Put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.”
Our adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Emotional confusion and panic have been fueled by alcohol and drugs, leaving people hopeless. Inner cities have become war zones. Many are filthy and filled with rats.
The news media is filled with articles describing the darkness the devil is spreading into our cities, our homes, and our lives.
This instability is a result of rejecting Jesus Christ. Many are trying to fill their lives with something to give it purpose, meaning, or take away their pain. They are looking in all the wrong places; drugs, alcohol, sex, gang affiliation.
Look to Jesus Christ and “Put on the full armor of God…to stand firm against the devil.”
