Colossians 3:15 “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”
There is nothing like the sound of a noisy alarm clock. You spend hours twisting and turning, can’t get to sleep. The ticking of the clock seems to get louder and louder reminding you that time is passing. You finally fall asleep from exhaustion in the wee hours of the morning. Then, suddenly a loud clanging. The alarm? How can it be? You just got to sleep.
We live in a chaotic, hectic world, and it seems there is no rest for the weary. The news is filled with stories of strife and turmoil. We don’t have time during the day to think, but at night all the thoughts come rolling by like a ticker tape. You just want to shut out the world and find a little peace and rest.
1 Peter 5:7 (NLT) “Cast all your cares on Him [Christ] because He cares for you.”
Matthew 11:28 (KJV) “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
