Job 19:25 “I know that my Redeemer lives…”
Job was a man who had been blessed with a large family and great wealth. He also feared the Lord. Satan set his eye on Job to make him a target. He claimed Job only loved God because of the abundance of wealth God had provided him. Because of Satan, Job lost it all. He lost his children and all his cattle, sheep, harvest…everything. His wife didn’t stand by him. His friends said he should confess whatever sin he had committed that was causing God to punish him. He even finds himself mourning in ashes because of the sores all over his body.
His friends didn’t comfort him. His wife didn’t comfort him.
Everyone will face tragedy at some point in our lives. It may be the loss of wealth, loss of health, or the loss of a loved one. At times, we are caught up in storms that are beyond our ability to handle.
Job faced such a storm, but in the midst of his heartache and pain, he never blamed God. He turned to God and said, “I know that my Redeemer liveth.” He stood firm in his faith.
In the midst of the storm, he trusted the Lord.
