Psalm 40:1 “I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me and heard my cry.”
David must have been a very frustrated young man. He was anointed King of Israel, but instead of taking the throne he finds himself running for his life. He is hiding in dark caves and desolate areas instead of lounging in the palace. He refused to harm King Saul and take his rightful place. Instead he waited on the Lord.
Psalm 40:2 “God brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay. He set my feet upon a rock.”
Many times we struggle with problems for days, sometimes years, working harder and harder to correct a problem to no avail. We get frustrated and throw up our hands saying, “It’s just not happening.” The problem is still there and continues to eat on you day after day. Have you ‘cried out to the Lord’? Have you waited patiently for His answer?
The Lord can bring you up from your pit of despair and set your feet on solid ground.
