John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me.”
I remember riding my bike to school early in the morning. I didn’t look forward to going, but I knew I could veer off the smoother road I normally took onto a rougher path that cut off a few minutes. If I went fast, I didn’t have time to think about how rough and unsafe the path was. As a young boy I had a choice which way to go, the rough but faster way, or the smoother safer way.
This is just a simple thing to most people, but it’s the same type of decisions we make every day of our lives. Which way do we go? Does it matter as long as I get where I want to go?
It matters. It matters to you and it matters to God. Why spend your life wondering and wandering. There is only one path to heaven. You can’t get there by being a good person, even though you should be a good person. You should do good works, but good works won’t get you into heaven. Jesus has shown us the way. It is through Him and Him alone.
