Roy’s Blog: “Historic Days”

Psalm 9:1 (NCV) “I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart. I will tell all the miracles you have done.”

It was an historic day (for me) when I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. When I married my wife fifty years ago was also an historic day, and when each of our children were born. We remember these dates and celebrate them.

Some dates will go down in infamy: the World Wars, Pearl Harbor, 9/11/2001, the day you lost a mother, father, or other loved one. Some dates are celebrated: birthdays, July 4th, or the day you became cancer free.

March 25, 2019 will go down as an historic day for the nation of Israel. President Trump signed the official declaration recognizing the Golan Heights as Israel’s sovereign territory. This has been amazing to watch as the United States has had a small part in the end times by acknowledging the ancient land of Israel which God gave to them.

In spite of the protests of many other nations, God has used President Trump to bless Israel beyond anything any other President has ever done. From cancelling the Iranian Nuclear Deal to recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and moving our embassy there, the United States has kept our oath to be an ally to Israel.

History is happening. It may never make it to the history books in our schools, but we should remember and make sure our children know what these things mean to us as a nation and to God’s people (His church).

  1. Yes! Just thinking of all that God has done gets your “ motor” going in the right direction of “ choosing life” each day. Thank you.
