I Corinthians 15:51-52 “Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will all be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.”
Have you ever had a child get away from you in a big store? Seems like they vanished in a split second. I remember quite a few years ago shopping in a large department store with my wife. Beth and I ended up in complete different areas of the store. It had been a long time since I had seen her, and I began to search the store. I went aisle after aisle, searched what I thought was every nook and cranny, but couldn’t find her. I thought she had disappeared–poof! Finally, she stepped out of the only back corner I must have missed, and there she was. I was so excited I finally found her.
I can’t imagine the anxiety and fear that will fill the hearts of so many someday soon. When that last trumpet sounds and loved ones vanish, their family will search for them to no avail. It will happen quickly–in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. Be ready.
