Psalm 119:105 (KJV) “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
I had a paper route when I was 13-15 years old. I was excited to be making a little spending money and showing how mature I was.
Every Sunday morning, before church, I started my route around 5:30 AM, in the dark, going along a city street next to the San Diego bay. I can remember many times looking across the bay toward the Point Loma, San Diego lighthouse. Even in the early morning dark and haze, I could see that lighthouse. I thought of all the sailors and fishermen over the years that were welcomed and guided by that light. After all their struggles and trials it was a glorious site.
I thought about the words of Jesus, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12 (NIV)
