Roy’s Blog: “Don’t Fret”

Psalm 37:7 “Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him. Do not fret…”

Whether it’s personal concerns, family matters, financial needs, health issues, government policies, or global conditions, we all have reason to worry and fret. Sometimes critical situations strike immediate fear in our hearts, and that is only natural. However, much of our anxiety is associated with everyday problems in life, such as cancer, stroke, heart attacks, car accidents, and finances.

We take our worries around with us all day, then we bring them to bed with us at night. We wake up with them, pull them out of bed with us, and carry them around like a bag of rocks all day.

This is not how God wants us to live. He wants us to be happy. He wants to give us peace and rest. Matthew 11:28 “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

There is an old hymn that goes: “Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.”
