Joshua 24:15 (NASB) “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served beyond the river, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.”
Loyalty is a noble trait, but if that loyalty makes you choose anyone or anything other than the Lord, then it is time to abandon that loyalty. It can be painful to have to choose, but we must. What or whom do we love more? What or whom do we put first in our lives? Even good things can become barriers to our walk with the Lord.
The Christian life requires difficult choices. Many times these choices put the will and ways of the Lord up against what is comfortable and easy for us.
The choices may be hard, but we must choose.
