Matthew 16: 3 “You know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but cannot discern the signs of the times.”

Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for not recognizing the signs of His first coming. The religious leaders of His day had full knowledge of the prophecies about the Messiah and there were many. Yet, these leaders ignored all the signs, and rejected Him. Jesus fulfilled each prophecy as it was laid out in the writings the religious leaders had studied constantly.

He was rejected, beaten, crucified. He was raised from the tomb and appeared to many. He went to prepare a place for us, so that when He returns for us, we will be with Him forever.

Unlike the religious leaders of the first century, I refuse to ignore the signs of the Lord’s return. I’ve studied what those signs will be and have seen many of them come to pass recently. Don’t ignore the signs–be ready.

In the “Olivet Discourse” (Matthew 24), the Lord’s return was described like birth pains in that the signs will increase in frequency and intensity before Jesus’s return. Therefore, we can use these birth pains to gauge how close we are to the Lord’s return. When these pains begin to have large scale consequences world-wide, we can know the Lord’s return is near, even at the door.

Tomorrow is a celebration of Jesus Christ’s resurrection from death. It is the most important day in the history of the world. The next will be His return.
