Matthew 5:4 Blessed are they that sorrow; for they shall be comforted.”
When we face heartache, disappointment, or tradgedy, we wish that we could escape the trouble like we escape a thunder storm by running inside a building. But comfort from troubles of life is much harder to find than shelter from the rain.
the deeper the sorrow, the more elusive comfort seems to be. What could be more contradictory than the idea that the sad are happy, that the path to happiness is sadness.
Jesus turned the world’s principles upside down. He reversed the path to happiness.
Happiness comes with God’s response to our sorrow. Godly mourning brings God’s forgiveness, which brings God’s happiness, which is more than just a bandaid for your sorrow.
