2 Peter 1:4 (NASB) “He granted to us His precious and magnificent promises so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.”
Imagine finding a container in your yard filled with unimaginable treasures- gold, silver, diamonds, and rubies worth millions. You’d be elated, filled with joy. The Bible is like that, but instead of gold and silver, it is full of God’s promises.
God wants us to open the Bible and see all the treasures (God’s promises) it contains. We all crave deep down heart satisfaction. We can find some pleasure in the things of the world, but none of those things last. Then, we crave more and more, something different. Worldly things can never give us lasting peace and joy. But God offers us His promises to transform our lives so that joy and peace dwell within us even during calamity.
Psalm 16:11b David said, “In Your presence is fullness of joy.” How?
1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
