Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you…plans to give you hope and a future.”
God gave Israel a promised land. It is first recorded in Genesis 15, then in Genesis 17. It is recorded 21 more times in the Bible. The land God promised the Jewish people is where Israel is located today.
They went into Egypt, because of famine, as 70 souls. In 430 years they had grown to almost two million people. When Moses led them out of Egypt they were miraculously delivered by God.
They traveled through the wilderness for forty years. A whole generation died. Why? Because of their lack of trust in God and His provision, all those who started out in the group died except for Joshua and Caleb. Each time a problem came up or life got hard, the people were fearful and wanted to return to their bondage in Egypt, their old life of serving the idols in that country.
It may be health, or maybe fear of the unknown, but you can be sure the enemy will try and destroy your trust and faithfulness to God, keeping you from the promises God has for you. Step across that “river of promise.” The blessings are yours.
