Proverbs 15:14 “A wise person in hungry for truth. The fool feeds on trash.”
That’s the question. Which on is going to be in your life truth or trash? Truth is all around us, and trash is also all around us. The difference between the two is that truth is something you have to desire, but trash just gets dumped on you all day long. You don’t ask for it, and you can’t avoid it. The thing is, you don’t have to wallow in it.
The Truth will set your free, not the way the world defines free. But it gives you the power to live a different kind of life, one where you realize you don’t have to live in guilt and fear. You can have peace that the world can’t give you, but a true peace that passes all understanding. You have a shield against the trash that bombards you daily.
A long time ago, there was a tax collector in Jericho named Zacchaeus. He had everything the world could offer: power, wealth, position. The one thing he lacked was peace. Finally from a sycamore tree, he found that peace. He found the Truth that set him free. (Luke 19:1-10)
God gives us this same Truth to set us free.
