Ephesians 5:11 (KJV) “Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”
Halloween is big in our society. It is second only to Christmas in money spent. From September 1st to October 31st it moves our nation into a frenzy over vampires, ghouls, ghosts, and witches. Even our churches now celebrate Halloween with festivals and “trick or treat”, dressing it up as “Trunk or Treat”, but still celebrating the darkness that Halloween exalts.
It is not just harmless fun. It brings out many of the pagan beliefs and practices the Lord forbid His people to tolerate. Instead of lifting up the Light of the World, we lift up the darkness of Halloween.
“Be very careful not to imitate the detestable customs of the nations living there…Do not practice fortune telling, or sorcery, interpret omens, or engage in witchcraft or psychics, or call forth the spirits of the dead. Anyone who does these things is an object of horror and disgust to the Lord…” Deuteronomy 18:9-12 (NLT)
